New York Fashion Week is undoubtedly one of the biggest events of the year, Harper’s BAZAAR has selected the top 5 looks from the best Spring 2015 lines. Check out this year’s top collections by the Worlds Leading Fashion Designers. Below is one of my favorite looks by Delpozo with it’s iridescent, ethereal and dream-like fantasy look. An almost sea-nymph, faerie tale with an avant-garde take.
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are in the mood for love. Their inspiration board was lined with quotes from Shakespeare, bits and pieces of Dante’sInferno, and the paintings of Marc Chagall, hopeless romantics all. Chagall, in particular, captivated them. “He had an incredible life, very hard, but he maintained his optimistic vision,” Piccioli said. The painter’s Russian ancestry provided a leitmotif for the embellishments that are so central to the designers’ aesthetic. There were leather flowers appliquéd to rough-hewn linen, naive needlepoint embroideries on long pinafores worn over smocked shirts, and a shearling vest densely decorated with leather paillettes. The Russian pieces were far from humble, but their craftiness pointed to the differences between Chiuri and Piccioli’s version of the brand and that of its founder. In this case, at least, they wanted for a touch of Valentino’s glamour.
Hello all! As you know ever year we always have a color of the year for each year. The color represents what will be expected for the upcoming trends in clothing, lifestyle, beauty, art as well as all other aspects of our lives. Colors to us represent a psychological trigger of emotions and feelings, these spark excitement and inspire us to want more out of life. Pantone has announced the color for this year will be Marsala. From the article I’ve posted Marsala is described as “Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness. This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors.”
This color to me represents a feeling of warmth, with it’s rich and inviting undertones. The slight sheen and glimmer makes me think of luxury and lavish beauty, which will represent a feeling of enrichment. I feel that these colors will invoke a sense of spirit in us and will allow us to further enlighten our minds. bodies and soul’s for the following year. A break away from the neutral and dreary to a more rich, colorful, and tasteful lifestyle.
